Your domain name does not have to be clever. It needs to be clear, memorable, and usable. In most cases, a strong business domain is easier to say, easier to type, and easier for customers to recognize.
A strong business domain usually:
- Is short enough to remember and type easily.
- Is easy to spell after hearing it once.
- Matches or closely supports the business name.
- Avoids unnecessary numbers and hyphens.
- Leaves room for the business to grow.
- Uses a familiar extension such as .com when practical.

A domain registrar manages the registration of your domain name. You register the right to use the domain for a defined registration period and normally renew it periodically to keep control of it.
